Raising Up CCA - Discipling the Next Generation of Leaders
Students are the pulse of their school. And something energetic happens when you help to raise the pulse. As part of the Calvary Christian Academy (CCA) family, you understand the need to raise it, to support it, to sacrifice for it, and to pray for it. Why? Because you know that raising the pulse ultimately means raising the hope of changing the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
As we disciple the next generation of leaders, training them to love God and one another as themselves, we must ask: who is this generation, what do they need, and what do they really want? And how is it the same or different from what other generations need and want?
The Next Generation Understanding CCA’s next generation provides insight into a generation of students who have grown up, mostly in a Christian circle, yet are increasingly pressured by the world around them. Although they may not admit it, they need and want guidance and protection, even from themselves at times.
This generation of disciples is fundamentally different from their older counterparts. They are, first and foremost, realists—afraid of nothing, except maybe the unknown. They expect things up front and honest. So, it’s no surprise that their keyword is “authenticity.” So, let’s be real… with them and with each other. Because after all, we need one another— from the rich to the poor—to do this thing we call life.
This generation is also diverse and it’s their diversity that makes them so special. Students are taught how to live with, learn with, and love all kinds of people. And in God’s economy, that’s not only good, it’s actually a necessity to love like Jesus and impact a diverse world—a world that is hungry for fresh fruit.
