Welcome
Admissions Philosophy

And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. Deut. 6:6-7 (NKJV)

Calvary Christian Academy is called to serve those parents who take to heart the command of the Lord in Deuteronomy 6:6-7 above. We seek to come alongside families who have a deep commitment to Jesus Christ and a devotion to His ways. Therefore, for consideration for admission to Calvary Christian Academy there are spiritual, academic and behavioral standards.

Spiritually, Calvary Christian Academy is a covenant school, meaning that at least one parent in the family must have received Jesus Christ as their Savior and be devoted to following Him. In addition, we expect families to uphold the following biblical standards:

  •  Instruct children in the Christian faith at home. (Deuteronomy 6:6–7)
  • Accompany his or her children faithfully to church. Let us not give up meeting together...  (Hebrews 10:25)
  • Willingly co-labor with the school in the education and edification of their children. Can two walk together, unless they are agreed? (Amos 3:3)

Academically, Calvary Christian Academy requires prospective students to score within one year of the respective grade level. The curriculum and course studies offered at the Academy are advanced and challenging. In most cases, Calvary Christian Academy is not equipped to minister to students not achieving within at least a 1.4 years of grade level. Academic achievements as reflected by grades on previous report cards is another variable considered in the admissions process.

Behaviorally, we recognize that fruitful ministry requires a receiving heart and that this requirement rests within the student and family. We seek students who behave consistently with our mission to make disciples and socially exhibit biblical moral character, responsibility, and self-control.

Additionally, as the primary educators of children, parents need to be committed to effective co-laboring. This is demonstrated by parents who:

  • participate in school activities and events
  • communicate effectively with teachers
  • abide by school rules and policies

Do two walk together, unless they have agreed to do so? Amos 3:3 (NIV)

As a student matures, we look increasingly to that student’s relationship with the Lord as we perform admissions and annual reenrollment reviews.
