Confident Kids is a Bible-based support-group program that has worked together with CCA since 2005 to offer support and hope to hurting CCA families with children ages 4-12. The program has helped families deal with the stresses of living in today’s world, relating to divorce, separation, step-families, and absent parents. The curriculum is divided into four main units: Facing My Feelings, Living in My Family, Growing Through Changes, and Making Wise Choices. The lesson plans are age appropriate for pre-k /kindergarten, 1st-4th, and 5th-6th. Each unit is based on a Bible character (David, Esther, Joseph, Adam and Eve) and incorporates Bible stories, memory verses, small group discussion & prayer time, games, activities, and crafts.
Confident Kids supports our mission statement in making disciples of Jesus Christ. Every weekly session begins with prayer and worship. Then a contemporary drama opens a familiar setting for the children to relate. This enables the facilitators to continue the theme and opens the group for discussion and activities. This is followed by the biblical drama where the Word of God comes alive! There are weekly session summaries available for parents which describe specific topics, skills, biblical perspectives and suggested family activities. Parents are also included in the last meeting of each unit as the children are celebrated for their participation.
Confident Kids is a CCA After-School Program which meets on Wednesdays from Dismissal – 5:10pm.
4th Quarter will be on the curriculum "Making Wise choices."
The program only requires a $15.00 fee per child for snacks and supplies for each 9-week unit.
