Confident Kids is a Bible-based support-group program that works together with CCA to uphold our mission statement in making disciples of Jesus Christ. Since 2005, Confident Kids has offered help and hope to hurting families with children ages 4-12 here at CCA. The program has helped our families deal with the stresses of living in today’s world, regarding divorce, separation, stepfamilies and absent parents.
The curriculum is divided into four main units: Facing My Feelings, Making Wise Choices, Growing through Changes, and Living in My Family. The lesson plans are age appropriate for ages 4 through 12. Each unit is based on a Bible character (David, Esther, Joseph, Adam and Eve) and incorporates Bible stories, drama, memory verses, small group prayer time, games, activities, crafts and snacks.
Each week the group begins with a time of prayer and worship. A contemporary drama then opens a familiar setting that is relatable to the children. This enables the facilitators to continue the theme and opens the small groups for discussion and activities. The group re-gathers for the biblical drama where the Word of God comes alive; concluding with the “prayer huddle” and snack-time. There are weekly summaries with do-at-home activities available for parents. On the 9th week, parents are invited to attend a special meeting where each child’s accomplishments are affirmed and celebrated.

Making Wise Choices
"I Always, Always Have Choices." Children and parents learn the difference between wise and unwise choices, a six step process for making wise choices, and how to find wise adults when they need to ask for help. Visits from Queen Esther and Mordecai show children how to follow God's directions, even through the most difficult of choice making situations.
Cost is $20 (material for 9 weeks). Starts on April 1st (4th quarter), every Wednesday from 3:00 to 5:00pm.
Parent group meets separately at the same time. No Charge for parent group.
