MIDDLE SCHOOL SACC TOURNAMENT (by Krista Englert)
The Middle school volleyball team played in the SACC tournament on Saturday, October 25th . The Eagles competed against the Coral Springs Christian Crusaders in their first match. In game one the Eagles dominated and won 25-15. The Eagles had a rough start in the second game and were down 10-20. The girls worked together, not giving up on themselves or their team, even when it looked impossible. They came back, point by point, and won the game 25-22. It was very exciting!
The Eagles went on to play for the championship game against Highlands Christian. The Eagles have never won a game against Highlands. Well, the girls were determined not to let that get in the way. They went into the match with a positive attitude and once again dominated in the first game, winning 25-14. The second game was a little closer in score, but that didn’t stop the girls from finishing what they started. The Eagles closed out the game, 25 -20 to win the SACC Tournament. Great Season girls!!!
Even though it was great to win, it was even better to see the girls trying to lift their teammates up during times of frustration. They didn’t give up even when they were down. Also, someone from Highlands commended our team on our overall spirit of sportsmanship and respect. To me that was the highlight, and the trophy was icing on the cake. Not only did the girls play awesome volleyball but their light was shining and people noticed. The motto, “Every athlete a disciple” was played out on the court. Thank you for representing the Lord and CCA in this way!
