Its mission is to bring various professions to life, empowering outstanding students with confidence to make well-informed career choices. Programs are held in nine cities throughout the United States.
Florida American Legion Boys State
Florida Boys and Girls State is a hands-on intro to state government. Participants are given an opportunity to earn both high school and college credit.
American Legion Auxiliary Girls State and Nation
A "leadership action program" where qualified juniors take part in a practical government course. Instruction will be presented on the law and court system, legislative procedure, and Florida or national political history. Participants get to elect officials to all three branches of government. Students meet in state or federal capital buildings, where they participate in political rallies and write and vote on bills.
Presidential Classroom provides junior and senior leaders an extraordinary academic and leadership development experience in Washington, D.C. Choose from eight different programs that focus on current issues affecting our society today. Witness the federal government at work while interacting with influential leaders and policy makers
The Foundation for Teaching Economics
Weeklong, residential programs provide students who have just completed their junior year in high school with an exceptional opportunity to learn important leadership skills. You will learn how markets work and study a wide array of topics in economics from nationally acclaimed instructors.
National Young Leaders Conference
NYLC gives high-achieving sophomores, juniors and seniors a greater under-standing of their roles in democracy and the responsibilities of leadership. As these students meet with the men and women who shape laws and policies, they gain an inside perspective on key issues. Students have interaction with Cabinet secretaries, members of Congress, diplomats, lobbyists, journalists and academicians.
Young Americans Foundation
As the principal outreach organization of the Conservative Movement, the Foundation introduces thousands of American youth to the ideas of individual freedom, a strong national defense, free enterprise, and traditional values.
Summer conferences allow students to interact with and learn valuable leadership skills from national leaders.
