Calvary Athletics Adapts to COVID-19

We look forward to welcoming our Eagles back to our courts, fields, track, and facilities!

CCA Athletics is at work for you, preparing our facilities to provide a safe and enjoyable athletic training experience. CCA is a member of the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA), which receives guidance from the National Federation of High School Associations (NFHS).

Because all interscholastic athletic contests are regulated by the FHSAA, CCA will closely consult with these organizations as it relates to interscholastic athletic competition. The FHSAA along with CCA are eager to reconvene all team sports in the 2020-21 school year.

“I am so proud of Calvary’s coaches. Their character and integrity have demonstrated that their true heart’s desire is to use competitive sport as a tool to build relationships with young people and prepare them for what God has in store for their future.” —Keith Huisman, CCA Athletic Director

NEW ATHLETIC CLEARANCE SYSTEM

As a result of COVID-19, FHSAA has required that all student-athletes complete a new clearance prior to participating in any team-related activities, including summer workouts.

Every secondary student interested in trying out for CCA’s interscholastic sports teams is required to complete the athletic clearance process on FormRELeaf by visiting CCAEagles.org/Clearance and creating an account. This process requires that an FHSAA Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation Form be filled out by both the family and a physician, as well as waivers and athletic department covenants.

If you have any questions about athletic clearance, please contact Drew Anderson or Wendy Thomas.
“This new tool is a significant upgrade that will better serve our school community by streamlining communication and reducing confusion.” —Keith Huisman, CCA Athletic Director
