With recent updates to the Step Up for Students scholarship program, more families than ever before are eligible to receive one of their state scholarships! These funds can be used to cover private school tuition and fees, textbooks, and much more.

If you are a new family applying, please note that there are a limited number of new scholarships available, and they are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Scholarships For Private School (on average, $7,000 per K-12th grade student)

    • Who’s Eligible?
      • Dependent children of a member of the United States Armed Forces may qualify, regardless of household income. This includes members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, or Space Force and reservists.
      • Dependent children of a law enforcement officer, regardless of household income.
      • Siblings of students participating in the FES-UA (formerly Gardiner), including siblings of students who are eligible based on a special need, regardless of household income.
      • Children who are currently in foster care, regardless of household income.
      • Families that fall within the SUFS gross income cap, which is based on household size (for the 2022-23 school year, an example of who may be eligible is a family of four with an income up to $111,000 annually)

  • Scholarships For Students with Special Needs
    • This scholarship is for Florida students 3 years old through 12th grade with one of these diagnoses; families can receive at least $9,000 per eligible student.
    • Current McKay Scholarship students will transition to the Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities program (FES-UA) for the 2022-23 school year.

  • Once in, Always in
    • Any student who currently was awarded a scholarship for the 2021-22 school year or was on the waiting list will automatically qualify for renewal regardless of current income, and the student will keep the scholarship until graduation, as long as the family completes the annual “Intent to Continue” for the scholarship.

CCA also accepts SUFS’ Hope Scholarship, which gives public school parents options to place their child in an environment where their child feels safe.
