Scholarship Fund Blesses Over 10 Families This Christmas

Dana Ridenour
Each year, a CCA family is chosen to receive a “Christmas Blessing” made possible by the Kaye Taylor Scholarship Fund. Mrs. Taylor, one of CCA’s most beloved Kindergarten teachers, went home to be with the Lord in March of 2016. Donations made to this fund honor her love for children and passion for Christian education.

On Friday, November 30, Dr. Jason Rachels, Head of School at Calvary Christian Academy, had the distinct honor to inform Michelle Grant, a single mother of two CCA students, that her tuition bill for the second semester has been paid in full. “There are so many families that we would love to help in this season,” said Dr. Rachels. “After prayer and discussion among the members of the selection committee, the Grant family with Andrew, who is a sophomore, and Samantha, who is in 8th grade, stood out to us as great representations of CCA, spiritually, academically and socially.”

In addition to the Grant family, 12 other families will be awarded $1,000 from the fund. We have a very generous church and school community, and it is pure joy to distribute these funds to families that could use a little support during a tough financial stretch. These blessings are only possible because of generous gifts given to the Kaye Taylor Scholarship Fund. This school year, $53,438 has been donated through the Sponsor A Child program so far.

1 John 3:17 asks, “If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?” My utmost appreciation to those families who have faithfully and generously supported Calvary Christian Academy this year. Your gifts are making an eternal impact.
