June 23, 2020 | Update
As our leadership team and administration continue to plan for school to begin in August, we would like to inform you of three possible scenarios for our 2020-21 reopening, which will be dependent on what governing authorities will allow at that time in terms of classroom capacity requirements.
Each scenario will strategically ensure that your child(ren) will thrive in the comfort and consistency of continuing to receive an excellent, well-rounded Christian education from our faculty and staff members who are held to the highest standards.
- Scenario 1: Resume School 100% on Campus
Ideal, preferred scenario; mobile learning option will be available for families who are more comfortable with their child(ren) learning offsite.
- Scenario 2: Hybrid — On Campus & Mobile Learning*
A combination of live, on-campus classes and mobile learning
*Students can participate in live classes from alternate locations, either supervised on-campus locations or off-site (from home or another location).
- Scenario 3: Campus Closed – Distance Learning
What took place March-May 2020 with new technological enhancements
I invite you to thoroughly review
CCAEagles.org/2020-21 to learn more about what the three scenarios entail, what cleaning and safety protocols will be implemented (such as daily temperature checks), and how CCA will remain committed to educating tomorrow’s leaders for Christ. Our goal is to provide you with a holistic view of the changes that may become a reality at CCA. In the coming weeks, we will communicate specifics as to how these scenarios will manifest for early childhood, elementary, middle, and high school students.
As a response to COVID-19, we have made a significant financial investment to better care for our students, staff, and families. Below are some investments that have either been made or are in the process of being implemented on our campus; these enhancements will not impact 2020-21 tuition rates:
- Increased staffing and additional teacher training
- New handwashing stations around campus (including playgrounds and athletic facilities)
- Upgrades to technology and curriculum
- High–definition cameras and monitors in the classrooms
- Electrostatic handheld machines and pump sprayers using hospital grade disinfectant
- And much more!
We will be sharing ongoing email updates with you throughout the summer, which will include more solidified details. Meanwhile, please join me in praying for COVID-19 cases to decrease here in South Florida and that the Lord would ultimately be glorified through the scenario He leads our school community toward. Let us thank God for His faithfulness to us in every season.
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” —Romans 8:28

May 28, 2020 | Update
We are planning for students and staff to physically return to campus in August for the start of the 2020-21 school year. We are also exploring ways for students to learn via distance for parents who believe that is the best option for their family. Our team has been seeking wisdom from the Lord and is working with local medical professionals, the Association of Christian Schools International, Broward County Childcare Licensing, the Department of Children and Families, and other professional entities to establish a safe and healthy school environment for our students. We are making a significant, informed, and strategic financial investment in facilities, equipment, personnel, and training to further safeguard our school.
We have a team of staff working on plans for opening our preschool as well as our summer day, dance, and athletic camps during the summer months. More information will be communicated to you over the coming weeks. To prepare for these programs and for the new school year, we have significantly increased cleaning protocols and procedures on our property, and our entire staff will be trained by medical professionals on how to minimize transmission risk. We are thankful and relieved to hear the recent news that
COVID-19 does not spread easily on surfaces, but we will continue significant surface cleaning in an effort to go above and beyond to care for our students, parents, and staff.
In Deuteronomy 31:6, Moses shares words of encouragement with the Israelites who, much like us, were about to enter a “new normal,” a new land:
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified . . . for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
I look forward to being reunited with you all soon in person on our campus. We will continue to provide updates to our families throughout the coming weeks, so stay tuned for more details.
Have a wonderful summer, Eagles!
In His Service,
Dr. Jason Rachels
Head of School
April 18, 2020 | Update
I am so proud of the great work and the heart that our students, parents, and staff have demonstrated during this unique season of distance learning. It has been an honor to see the way that our Eagles have risen to the challenge. It’s not easy, and almost all of us would much rather be on campus getting to connect and teach and learn in person. But we will continue to persevere and walk through this time as a family that seeks to do all things in an excellent manner that honors and glorifies the Lord.
An example of that excellence actually aired on Channel 7 this weekend. I encourage you to check out how one of one of our seventh grade students used 3D printing and his STEM skills to create and assemble face shields for health care professionals at Northwest Medical Center. You can watch the news segment by
clicking here.
I am thankful that spiritual, academic, and social growth has continued to take place virtually because of the teachers, students, and technology He has blessed us with. May we keep our focus on Him and rely on His strength while we also look for opportunities to serve and support one another. If you are in a position to give to the
CCA Tuition Assistance Fund for families in crisis, please pray about how generous you can be so that more families can be helped through this time.
God will carry us through this season. He is not surprised by this, and He is ready and able to provide for us all through this time. We are here for you, and we love you.
Pressing On Together,
Dr. Jason Rachels

March 17, 2020 | Update
Distance learning classes are in full swing at CCA’s Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood campuses, and we are so thankful for the overwhelming support we have received from our community. Our faculty and staff have been working above and beyond their normal hours to ensure that all of our students continue to receive excellent academic instruction and discipleship opportunities in a virtual format.
During these coming weeks, we are reminding our Eagles to continually:
- Center yourself in Christ
- Connect with your teachers daily
- Ask for help as needed
We are confident that our entire school community will learn and grow through this season, and that by partnering together, we will all come out stronger on the other side. Be sure to follow our journey on Facebook and Instagram with the hashtag #CCAGoesTheDistance!
“May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.” —Numbers 6:24-26
March 17, 2020 | UpdateCCA will follow the Florida Department of Education's order for all public and private schools to remain closed through April 15 due to concerns about coronavirus. Distance learning will begin Monday, March 23. Additional details will be provided throughout the week.
March 13, 2020 | UpdateGiven the most recent information related to COVID-19 (coronavirus) and its impact on the tri-county area, CCA classes and extracurricular activities are canceled for the week of March 16-20.
During this time, teachers and staff will plan and prepare for an excellent distance learning experience for our students, which is scheduled to begin Monday, March 23.
The health and well-being of our school community is our top priority, and we will continue to make proactive decisions that have everyone’s best interest in mind. No matter how long this lasts, we plan to continue providing our families with the quality education they have come to expect from CCA and CCAH, regardless of the means of delivery.
Additional details will be shared with our families as we continue to develop these plans to best care for your child(ren).
We ask that you all continue to be in prayer for those who have been affected by this virus, and may we be a light to anyone who is struggling with feelings of fear or anxiety and point them to the Prince of Peace.
March 10, 2020 | UpdateAs those who trust in God, we do not walk in fear, but we do want to walk in wisdom. As we review the guidance shared by government health officials around the world and while the situation remains dynamic, as of today, the CDC has placed the following countries on Level 2 or Level 3 travel alerts:
The CDC has recommended travel restrictions for the following locations:
- China, Iran, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Monaco, San Marino, Vatican City.
This list will be updated here as locations are added or removed as areas of concern. We are using the following CDC website to obtain the most current updates: Visit: CDC.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/
- CDC guidelines for travelers returning to the United States from these countries currently states, “travelers should stay home for 14 days after returning to the United States and practice social distancing.” Please know that self-quarantine would apply to students and employees in our community and include staying home from school and work.
- We are eager to help any students in quarantine circumstances with distance learning, including class attendance via video.
If you or your child have recently traveled to any of the countries on the restricted list and:- Have a fever, cough and/or difficulty breathing:
Call your child's doctor immediately and do not come to school (school-level principal(s) should be notified of his/her absence). You will be asked to provide medical clearance from your doctor before your child may return to school.
- Have NO symptoms:
Please notify your school level principal to discuss the best plan to ensure that your child is cleared to return to classes.
If you or a family member made the decision to travel to one of the aforementioned countries or via cruise ship, we ask that you self-report to your school level principal to plan for a safe return to school.
We will continue to monitor this situation and provide updates on this page and via email when necessary. Please join us in prayer for those affected, and for all medical professionals that are working to create an effective vaccine against this virus. If you have any questions, please contact your school level principal.
Lastly, as a reminder, we are sharing CCA’s policy for sick children below. This pertains to any illness, regardless of its severity and is designed to prevent the spread of various illnesses that our students could potentially encounter.
Sick Children
We desire to maintain a healthy school environment to prevent the spread of communicable diseases. As a simple guideline, we ask that you refrain from bringing sick children to school. If your child has had a fever in the past 24 hours, been continually coughing, had diarrhea, has been vomiting, shows signs of any contagious disease (such as a skin rash or irritated pink eye with discharge), or any other signs of illness, we ask that you keep your child at home. Students must go 24 hours without a fever before returning to school. Children with any of these symptoms need to rest and seek proper treatment. We want to continue to provide a safe and healthy environment for the other children, keeping the spread of sickness to a minimum.
If your child is diagnosed with a communicable disease, we ask that you inform the school clinic by calling (954) 905-5486. A letter will be sent home to the other students in the same class to make parents aware of the potential signs and symptoms.
