Calvary Boys Varsity Lacrosse dusted off the cobwebs against a perennial preseason foe, coming back twice from four goals down to beat Cypress Bay 13-12 in their first and only preseason scrimmage Friday night on Calvary Field.

Scoring was spread out, coming from Jon Santana (4g3a), Tyler Asbate (4g2a), Nate Rodriguez (3g), and Caleb Leger and Carter Combs each adding a goal.

Carlos Montoya had a legendary debut at the face off X, winning 16 of 21 for 76% and a team-leading 10 ground balls.

The defense was anchored by strong performances by both veteran goalies, Ian Carvajal and Tyler Martinez, who combined for 12 saves on the night.

The Eagles open their season this coming Monday at another great rival, West Broward High School.
