Boys Take Regional Runner-Up

The Boys scored 100 points to take runner-up at Regionals last night. Morgan smith was the lone qualifier on the girl's side. The boys are sending 15 athletes to the 2A and Para-Division State Meet in Jacksonville on May 18th and 20th at UNF. 
CCA competed at home for the 2A Region 4 Championships Last night. 
On the women's Side, Morgan Smith punched her ticket to the State meet at UNF on May 18th with her Triple Jump of 10.68 meters or 35 feet in American. Freshman Christal Mitchell competed in the 400-meter dash and fought bravely in her race. 

CCA put 100 points on the Boy's side to claim the runner-up trophy.
The day started with Freshman Phenom Liam Marley winning the Shot put with a heave of 15.78 meters or 52 feet American. Following Mr. Marley’s impressive throw, the boy’s 4x8 punched an automatic bid to Jacksonville with their 8:20 clocking. Running off fumes after recovering from the flu, Mason Morin gutted out a fantastic performance to keep the team in the running. Freshman Jonathan Anthony capped it off with a courageous finish to seal 2nd place. Dylan Crowers and Caleb Mitchell also ran impressive splits and will join them for the Final Meet. Joseph Rice joined the State Qualifiers club by jumping 3.75m in the pole vault or 12’3 American. 
Frezler Fresain and Daniel Hubner soared to State Qualifying marks in their sprinting events following those two performances. Daniel Hubner ran a 10.96 to tie for 2nd all-time in CCA history and was enough to punch his ticket. Frezler Fresain broke his school record in 49.52 to qualify in an open sprint. Fresain and Hubner would also join Dakeen Mayard and Yohan Li-Louis to run a School Record 42.33 in the 4x100 meter relay, claiming that automatic qualifying spot. Fresler and Hubner would join teammates Leonidas Merisme and Ryan Powell to hit a state qualifying relay again in the 4x400 relay. Also competing in open events were Micah Williams, who was also coming off of the flu in the 400m Hurdles, and Jonathan Anthony in the 800 meters. 2 days after the 2A Championships, Seth Kavanaugh and Shawn Hickman will compete for State Championships in the Para Track and Field Championships. Seth Kavanaugh won the 100m Dash in 11.56 seconds and the 200 meters in 23.88 seconds, and he finished 2nd in the Javelin to qualify for the state meet in 3 events. Joining him will be Shawn Hickman, who qualified for the state meet by running an impressive and awe-inspiring 400 meters. The Eagles represented their school and God very well last night and made the coaching staff proud.
