STEM/RC Camp | 3rd–7th Grade

Calvary Christian Academy
This camp is an exciting introduction to RC hobbies and the principles of STEM, including the science of flight. Campers will fall in love with tinkering and designing a variety of remote-controlled vehicles, including RC cars, boats, gliders, and drones. They will learn the basics of remote control technology, problem-solving, and improvement while using critical thinking skills and collaborating with others.

Be sure to select the grade your child WILL BE entering in August 2023.

Our goal for this summer is to make sure your child has FUN and stays SAFE. There are a few things you can do to help us with this.

Drop-off is at the camp reception desk in the West Corridor. Dismissal will use carline on the west end of the property.

Camp shirts—camp T-shirts are required for all campers, we provide 3 camp shirts which can be picked up on the first Monday of camp or when your child arrives for their first day

Electronics and toys should be kept at home. We provide so many fun activities and want to ensure things from home do not get lost

Please have campers arrive dressed in shorts and a camp T-shirt, with closed-toed shoes.

We are looking forward to an amazing summer filled with fun!

God created the Earthworm to be an important helper in our garden or our backyards. They mix up the soil while building tunnels which allows the rich soil to be pushed to the surface. Campers will observe the organs of these amazing creatures through a step-by-step dissection within the lab.

Students will also study another amazing creature God designed the owl. Campers will learn how the owl swallow their prey whole or in big chunks and spit up undigested owl pellets including bones and fur. This allows students to investigate and identify bone structures and body skeletons of different owl prey.

Our tiny STEM campers will also follow the design process to construct an Engine Air Sail Car. Campers will work within groups to build a wind-powered sail car using the supplies provided. The campers will compete to see which design will travel the farthest while using wind and learning about forces. Students will ask, research, imagine, plan and build a model they can test while working alongside others to accomplish this task
