  • *Algebra I Honors

    This is the foundational math course for high school students. Upon successfully completing this course, students will be prepared for entry into Geometry and Algebra II.
  • *French I

    The primary goal of French I is to introduce students to the language and culture of France and the French speaking world. Students will interpret and use French (written and spoken) in proper cultural context.
  • *Geometry I Honors

    This fast-paced course introduces students to logic and proof in order to aid in solving theoretical and real world problems. Students who complete this course will be prepared for an accelerated math program.
  • *Physical Science 8 Honors

    This is a foundational high school level course covering the concepts of the physical world, with an emphasis on chemistry and physics. This course prepares students to progress into high school honors science, with an emphasis on independent learning.
  • *Spanish I

    As an introduction to the fundamentals of listening and speaking, vocabulary and grammar; this course is designed for communication with Spanish-speaking people in the community and/or workplace.
  • *Spanish I Honors for Spanish Speakers

    This class is designed specifically for Spanish speakers. It focuses on the grammatical aspects of the language in order to give native speakers a well-rounded knowledge of Spanish.

  • Bible 8

    Bible 8 course provides instruction in the study of early church history, the New Testament epistles, and eschatology. Students are encouraged to debate, discuss and represent some contemporary tensions between Christianity and culture.
  • Boys P.E. 8

    Students will be involved in more specific game playing using official rules in small groups or teams. Students will have the opportunity to be more accountable for healthy eating and living.
  • English 8

    This course is designed to incorporate all aspects of communication: reading, writing, speaking, viewing, vocabulary, and literature. Students will publish a variety of pieces, focusing on expository and persuasive writing.
  • English 8 Honors

    This course incorporates a holistic integrated approach utilizing other academic disciplines focusing on analytical and evaluative thinking skills. Writing and class discussion will focus more rigorously on content, organization, and style.
  • Girls P.E. 8

    Students will be involved in more specific game playing using official rules in small groups or teams. Students will have the opportunity to be more accountable for healthy eating and living.
  • Integrated Science 8

    Introduction to chemistry includes matter, its properties and changes, and the periodic table. Life science and Earth science topics will build on seventh grade and prepare for 9th grade. Space science and the human body are studied in depth.
  • Intro to Band

    This course is for beginning students who have had no experience (or very little) on a band instrument (brass or woodwind). The purpose of this course is to train students in the art of making music in an ensemble setting emphasizing the disciplines of individual preparation, participation, and contribution to the group. Students will experience an instrument fitting to determine their best choice for study and success, and must acquire their own instrument (information provided). In addition, students will study and perform musical elements and notation; the art of balance, blend, intonation, breath energy, and characteristic tone. SmartMusic technology will be utilized to equip students with individual and corporate problem-solving tools. Literature and materials will consist of published and/or adapted works from both sacred and secular sources so that the process of performance preparation and presentation serves to glorify God and disciple His people.

  • Intro to Drums

    This course introduces students to the world of drumming.  Through practical application of percussion instruments (i.e. melodic and non-melodic), students not only have the opportunity to participate in a drumline and a rhythm section, but they also learn how to interpret notation, develop sight-reading skills, master rhythms, undergo ear training, and gain performance experience.

    In this course, students will discover and develop their God-given artistic talents, as they learn to draw and paint from observation of a variety of objects and sources, using several different art mediums.
  • MS Art II

    In this course, students will continue to develop their God-given artistic talents, as they learn to draw, paint, and sculpt from observation of a variety of objects and sources, using several different art mediums.
  • MS Art III

    In this course, students will continue developing and refining their drawing and painting techniques, as they work from observation of a variety of objects and sources, using several art mediums.
  • MS Automation and Robotics

    You will learn about mechanical systems, energy transfer, machine automation, and computer control systems. You also get to design, build, and race your own robot.
  • MS Band Advanced

    This vital and active school performing ensemble is for students who have had one or more years of experience on a band instrument emphasizing the discipline and acquisition of instrumental skills, as well as understanding of musical elements. was Band I
  • MS Band I

    This course offers a vital school performing ensemble for students who have had one or more years of experience on a band instrument. Opportunities for outside performances/outreach will include concerts, evaluation festivals, All-County and All-State.
  • MS Band II

    This course focuses on the discipline and acquisition of instrumental skills, understanding of musical elements, and the art of balance, blend, intonation, breath-energy, and characteristic tone.
  • MS Band III

    This course offers a vital and active school performing ensemble, with emphasis on the discipline and acquisition of instrumental skills, understanding of musical elements, and the art of balance, blend, intonation, breath-energy, and characteristic tone.
  • MS Chorus I

    This course is designed to introduce students to choral skills through the performance of age-appropriate music of all styles and periods, keeping in mind the developing and changing voice and stressing the essentials of the choral art.
  • MS Chorus II

    This course is designed to introduce students to choral skills through the performance of age-appropriate music of all styles and periods, keeping in mind the developing and changing voice and stressing the essentials of the choral art.
  • MS Chorus III

    This course is designed to introduce students to choral skills through the performance of age-appropriate music of all styles and periods, keeping in mind the developing and changing voice and stressing the essentials of the choral art.
  • MS Commercial Acting

    During this semester class, middle school students will explore, rehearse, and perform commercial and voiceover acting skills and techniques. They will collaboratively write, direct, and present original commercials, as well as create original character voices, and polish their skills when using various accents. Students will use these new skills to define and identify the techniques used to persuade target audiences to purchase consumer goods and services.
  • MS Creative Writing

    In this class, students develop their talent and creativity for writing. Students explore various genres, develop skills in effective character development, and have the opportunity to write original poetry, short stories, and novels.
  • MS Dance I

    This course imparts basic knowledge and applied skill in a variety of dance genres, including Hip Hop, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Ballroom, Tap and Worship. Our dancers will also study beginning Ballet technique.
  • MS Dance II

    This course furthers students’ knowledge and applied skill in a variety of dance genres, including Hip Hop, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Ballroom, Tap and Worship. Our dancers will also progress in Ballet technique.
  • MS Dance III

    This course imparts knowledge and applied skill in dance with an emphasis on Classical Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Worship and Hip Hop techniques.The art of dance is a medium of expression in which we can both worship God and communicate with the observer.
  • MS Digital Learning I

    The purpose of this course is to enable students to develop knowledge and skills in technology. Students will have access to the Microsoft Office/Google Docs applications and Digital Literacy curriculum.
  • MS Digital Learning II

    This course will focus on computer literacy, Internet skills, and the effective application of Microsoft Office software. At the end of this coursel students will take an exam. A passing score of 80% or above will allow a high school credit.
  • MS Digital Video Production I

    Students learn how to make short video projects using cameras and iMacs. Specific skills include scriptwriting, operating a camera, and video editing.
  • MS Digital Video Production II

    This is a semester-long course where students apply intermediate skills in the areas of pre-production, production, and post-production towards the completion of digital video projects.
  • MS Digital Video Production III

    This is a semester-long course where students apply advanced skills in the area of pre-production, and post-production towards the completion of digital video projects.
  • MS Digital Video Production IV

    This is a semester-long course where students apply advanced skills in the area of pre-production, and post-production towards the completion of digital video projects.
  • MS Digital Video Production Workshop

    In DVP Workshop students work on real-world media based productions to be shared with the Calvary Christian Academy community. Students will utilize skills gained in DVP I, DVP II, and Motion Graphic Design, and cooperative crew positions to create programming for the CCA community. In this class students will hone their media production and development skills and will work as Directors, Editors and Cinematographers to create content to be viewed and shared. Students will also work on their creative portfolio which they can use for entry into film endorsement. This is a project-driven, hands-on experience. 

  • MS Engineering Design & Modeling

    In this class, you get to be an engineer as you learn about design process, creativity and innovation. You will work in teams to design the ultimate playground, as well as everyday objects.
  • MS Flight and Space

    Students explore the Creation science behind aeronautics and use their knowledge to design, build, and test an airfoil. Students will also fly CCA’s flight simulator to experience the effects of aeronautical physics.
  • MS Intro to Chorus

    This course is designed to introduce students to choral skills through the performance of age-appropriate music of all styles and periods, keeping in mind the developing and changing voice and stressing the essentials of the choral art.
  • MS Intro to Yearbook

    This course will introduce students to the opportunities and challenges of assisting in the creation of a yearbook. Publishing photography,layout,and other skills will be explored and materials assembled that can then be used in a final publication.
  • MS Learning Enrichment Lab

    The Learning Enrichment Lab assists students in improving their learning skills through the use of a variety of interactive computer programs.
  • MS Learning Strategies

    This specialized course provides an environment for learners who can benefit from a guided study approach.
  • MS Medical Detectives

    Students prepare for Creation Mandate by solving medical mysteries through hands-on projects and labs,investigating how to measure and interpret vital signs,and learning how God designed the systems of the human body to work together to maintain health.
  • MS Programming I

    The purpose of this course is to lay the foundation for students who have an interest in the area of technology that will eventually lead to advanced classes at the high school level. The study of computer programming is a foundation to computer science.
  • MS Programming II

    Students work in teams to create apps for mobile devices using MIT App Inventor®. They explore the impact of computing in society and build skills in digital citizenship and cyber security.
  • MS Science of Technology

    Students will apply the concepts of physics, chemistry, and nanotechnology to STEM activities and projects, including making ice cream, cleaning up an oil spill, and discovering the properties of nanomaterials.
  • MS Theatre I

    Students will explore the foundation blocks of theatre arts as they are introduced to the basic concepts and skills in the elements of theatre arts, while applying biblical principles.
  • MS Theatre II

    The course’s content includes acting and characterization, movement and vocal production, pantomime and improvisation, theatre terminology, dramatic literature, technical theatre, playwriting, artistic discipline, audience etiquette and roles and careers.
  • MS Theatre III

    Course content includes acting and characterization, movement and vocal production, pantomime and improvisation, theatre terminology, dramatic literature, historical, cultural, and societal perspectives, technical theatre, role of the director and more.
  • MS Theatre Production

    This course teaches students how to apply theatre arts knowledge and skills to the production of a one-act play or musical, while applying biblical principles.
  • Pre-Algebra

    Students will develop understanding and skills using the strategies and tools of algebra.
  • US History 8

    Students will survey American History from the Protestant Reformation to 1900. As students study the significant people, places and events in American History, they will discover the theme that God governs in the affairs of man.
  • US History 8 Honors
