Boys 3rd, Girls 6th out of thirteen teams in the district!
On Thursday and Friday, the CCA varsity track and field teams participated in the 2A- District 15 Track and Field championships at Hallandale High School. Competing against some of the best competition in the country, the boys team finished 3rd out of 13 teams. Danny Ferro advanced to Regionals by winning the 800 and the 1600 meters, as well as anchoring the 4x800 meter relay team of Kaden Sauder, Brett Herbert, and Ariel Saravia that finished 2nd.. Also advancing to the Regional meet were Kennedy Sauder in the high jump and the triple jump, Max Hume in the pole vault, Justin Lawson in the discus, Ariel Saravia in the 3200 meters, and Daniel Jones in the 110 meter high hurdles.
Despite good efforts in the individual events, particularly by Nageline Rodriguez in the high jump and hurdles, the girls team finished 6th and advanced only 2 relay teams. the 4x800 meter relay team of Kenyce Johnson, Allie Milke, Crystal Cassinelli, and Samantha Kavanagh, advanced as well as the 4x400 meter relay of Amaiya Samuel, Fay Maurency, Allie Milke, and Samantha Kavanagh.
The regional meet will be held April 25th at the CCA track, so plan to come out and support your Eagles
