The CCA middle school swim team ended their season on Thursday afternoon with the Middle School Swimming and Diving Championships at St. Andrews School in Boca. The boys placed 3rd out of 10 teams and the girls placed 10th out of 11 teams with the combined team placing 5th out of 11 teams.
For the girls, Soliel Escobar just missed 2nd place in the diving competition and Grace Parnas also scored points for the team in the 50 butterfly and 100 individual medley. Every middle school girl improved her time in at least one event. Those were Caiden Talbert, Racquel De La Cruz, Jessica Hansen, Danae Venter, Hannah Crank, Josie Crank, Sophia Santa Cruz, Brandi Klingshirn, Brook Jones, Olivia DiRoberto, Devoni Ferreira, Jocelyn Bloom, and Ellie Escarda.
For the boys, Josh Wallace, Shad Wallace, Caleb Young, and Luis De La Cruz placed 4th in the 200 medley relay and 5th in the 200 free relay. Caleb also placed 6th in the 100 freestyle and Luis placed 8th in the 100 freestyle. Caleb also placed 8th in the 50 butterfly. Josh placed 2nd in the 50 butterfly and 3rd in the 50 backstroke. Jacob Pasche placed 6th in the 50 backstroke. Last but not least Shad placed 1st in the 50 freestyle and 3rd in the 100 individual medley. Again nearly every boy had their personal best in at least one event. Those swimmers include Jayden Maurrase, Luke Jardina, Nick Mindell, and Jack Stafford.
