Congratulations to CCA's Four National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists

To be considered for a National Merit Scholarship is no small accomplishment. We are proud to announce that four CCA seniors have earned the semifinalist status!

Merit Scholar designees are selected on the basis of their skills, accomplishments, and potential for success in rigorous college studies. About 1.6 million juniors entered the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2017 PSAT. From that number, less than 1% of US high school seniors qualified as a semifinalist. From these approximately 16,000 semifinalists, about 15,000 are expected to advance to the finalist level and be designated as a National Merit Scholar.

This year, CCA is proud to announce four seniors who earned the semifinalist status and are now eligible to compete to become a National Merit Scholar. These seniors are Jack Farley, Luke Jewett, Luke Kaufman and Zoe Larson.

These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $31 million. About 90% of the semifinalists are expected to attain finalist standing, and about half of the finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the Merit Scholar title. Join us in congratulating and praying for these students.
