On Friday, your CCA Cross Country Teams participated in the PIne Crest Cross Country Invitational at Tradewinds Park.
The varsity boys led by Josh Taggart, Jack Garey, and Luke Jewett, finished 7th out of 19 teams. In the girls race, Jasmine Hincapie ran a strong race and finished 3rd out of over 100 girls.
The CCA Middle Schoole teams dominated the competition. The boys team placed 5 runners in the top 7 and won the race easily. Hunter Morgan, Jacob Williams, Caleb Coble, Julian Quesada, and Daniel Cuesta finished 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th, finishing 20 points ahead of their rival and hosts, Pine Crest. The girls were even more impressive, besting Pine Crest by 46 points, and trouncing the field of 10 schools. The Lady Eagles triumvirate of Samantha Kavanagh, Johanna Velez, and Maya Rodriguez finished 1-2-3 on the 3,000 meter course, and also placed four others in the top 12.
By virtue of their outstanding performances in this meet, both boys and girls teams qualified for the Middle School State Meet in October.
