The Eagles dominated the Storm in all phases of the game, extending their inaugural season win streak to 2 games.
The Eagles defeated the Storm Friday night to extend their win streak with a short bench. The Eagles played just 8 skaters in their shutout victory. Notable performances came from Michel Huyghe with a hat trick and an assist for 4 points; Anthony Sciortino scored 2 goals and had 2 assists; Javin Zufelt had 2 goals and 2 assists for 4 points; Dominic DePietto and Stephen Susanj both had a goal and an assist for 2 points each; Christian Sehlke earned an assist for 1 point.Scoring began early in the first period when Javin Zufelt took a pass from Michel Huyghe to give the Eagles all the scoring they would need to win the game. One more goal would be scored in the first period as Huyghe took a stretch pass from goalie CJ Sehlke and found the back of the net to put the Eagles up 2-0. The Eagles would add 7 more goals in the second period, including 3 goals in a 48 second span. The team was strong on the penalty kill as well. The home team killed 5 penalties to extend the season PK to a perfect 11-0. Th Eagles put 41 shots on goal on their way to a 10-0 win. Eagles Goalie Christian Sehlke stopped 29 shots (SA 1.000; GAA 0.00) on goal for the shutout in his first appearance between the pipes. The team will take the ice again Sunday October 27 at 7:50pm against Stoneman Douglas 2 at the Rink On The Beach then Monday, October 28 at 8:00pm at the Panthers Ice Den (Den Rink) to take on the Westside Mutts.
