The CCA Hockey team took on Cardinal Gibbons in the first ever meeting of the two teams on the ice. The Eagles prevailed 6-2 to xtend their record to 6-1-0 and maintain their claim to first place in the FPSHL Gold Division.
The CCA Eagles Hockey team faced Cardinal Gibbons for the first time ever Sunday night. Captain Chance DeBolt scored a hat trick on assists from Michel Huyghe, Anthony Sciortino, and Javin Zufelt. Additional goals included the game winning goal by Javin Zufelt on an assist from DeBolt on an Eagles Powerplay, and Stephen Susanj who delivered a goal on a pass from Debolt, and the final goal scored by Andrew Chryst on a pass from Phillip Hin. Cardinal Gibbons scored 2 goals on 22 shots against CJ Sehlke (.910 S%), Eagles scored 6 goals on 48 shots against Whitlock (.875 S%). DeBolt (13-9-22), Sciortino (12-7-19), and Zufelt (6-10-16) lead the entire league in scoring, and remain on pace to be the highest scoring players in the state of Florida.
The Eagles record now stands at 6-1 (12 pts) and gives CCA a claim on first place in the Gold Division of the FPSHL. The next CCA Hockey game is against the Westside Mutts November 18, 9:30 @ the Florida Panthers Ice Den (Den Rink).
