Your CCA Eagles Varsity Ice Hockey team opened their 2020-21 season against Archbishop McCarthy last night at Pines Ice Arena. The Eagles returned 12 players from the inaugural squad and added 5 new players to the lineup.
The Eagles won the game 5-3 on 25 shots. CCA took the lead early and remained competitive throughout the game, finally scoring the winning goal was Stephen Susanj early in the 3rd period. Your Eagles took 25 shots on goal, finding the back of the net 5 times. Scoring for the Eagles were Bobby Chryst (3-0-3), Atilla Szathmari (1-3-4), Michel Huyghe (0-2-2), Stephen Susanj (1-0-1), and Dominic DePietto (0-1-1). Ryan Cavalancia stopped 25 of 28 (.893). The Eagles shut down a 5-on-3 advantage in the second period fueling the final push to win the game.
