Varsity Football Routs Belen Jesuit in Season Opener

Your Calvary Eagles Varsity Football team opened the season with a solid 49-6 victory over traditional power Belen Jesuit in Miami. Cecil Stone completed 5 of 10 passes for 60 yards and two TDs to Lucas Yalale and Allen Bryant. Reggie Heywood rushed for 147 yards and 3 TDs. Defensively, Lucas Mielke lead all tacklers with 6 tackles and 2 tackles-for-loss and Dakeen Mayard returned an interception 60 yards for a score. Carter Combs also had a touchdown saving tackle.
The Eagles return to action this Friday with a game at two-time defending state champion Cardinal Gibbons. Kick-off is at 7pm.
