Calvary Christian Academy Thespians Recognized at District Competitions

Calvary Christian Academy thespian students competed against 18 other schools in One Act and Individual Events at District Competitions and brought home Excellent and Superior ratings. The best will move on to compete at the Florida State Thespian Festival this spring.
Special congratulations to senior Ariel Feldman, who brought home the Critic's Choice Award for Makeup Design for The Mystery of Irma Vep!
Students from the Theatre Endorsement class performed Whodunit? And received an Excellent rating on performance and a Superior rating on technical elements.
40 students competed in the Individual Events District Competition, bringing home 15 Superior Awards and 15 Excellent Awards. The following pieces were recognized as the runner up for Critic’s Choice (best in category):
  • Large Group Musical performance of “It’s Hot Up Here” from Sunday in the Park with George
  • Small Group Musical performance of “The Baseball Game” from Falsettos

  • Steven Day and Tyler Verrier for their Duet Musical performance of “Two Nobodies in New York” from Title of Show
  • Willow Rachels for Costume Design for Itsuzu

  • Nicole Wroth for Publicity Design for The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime

  • Jesse McCoy for Choreography of “Baby That’s Rock ‘n’ Roll” from Smokey Joe’s Café
