Boys #1 and Girls #3 (12 Teams Competing at Pine Crest!)
The CCA Track and Field teams competed in a home track and field invitational meet at the Pine Crest track complex.The girls team competed well, finishing a close 3rd out of 12 teams. 7th grader Samantha Kavanagh had the lone individual victory for the eagles, winning the 400 meters and also anchored the winning 4x800 meter relay team along with Crystal Cassinelli, Angelina Quirch and Hana Garey. Kaylah Byrd, Fay Maurency, and Nageline Rodriguez also medaled in multiple events.For a second week in a row, the boys team dominated the meet, winning easily by over 80 points. As usual, they were led by senior Danny Ferro, who won the 400 meters and the 800 meters, and also anchoring the winning 4x800 meter relay. That relay also included Kaden Sauder, Brett Herbert, and Ariel Saravia. Justin Lawson won the discus with a mighty throw of 142' 08 ", Max Hume won the pole vault, and Daniel Jones won the 300 hurdles. In an exhibition event, Kaden Sauder won the first high school javelin competition held in the state of Florida in over 20 years.
