25 Prayers for 25 Years | Day 11 | Grateful for Community

By: Monica Cosenza
In today’s devotional, CCA Boynton Beach’s Early Childhood Director, Monica Cosenza, continues our 25 Prayers for 25 Years series by thanking God for the community God’s brought to CCA.

Scripture:

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

–Romans 8:28

Reflection:

I worked for a Christian school in Coral Springs for about seven years. As we returned from Christmas break in 2018, we discovered the school was closing. My three children and I were devastated. I had to start looking for a different school for them and a job for myself.

At that time, I did not embrace these changes as God had wanted me to. Change is hard, especially when we feel uncertain about what God is doing.

In the middle of so much uncertainty and loss, God made it possible for my children to attend CCA. The first few months were challenging. My children missed their old friends and teachers. I missed being in the same place as my children. I also missed my coworkers and the place I had known for so many years.

But over the course of time, I began to see my kids grow more excited about school as they adjusted to their new environment. Eventually, this new place became our home. This all happened thanks to the loving and welcoming presence that they were greeted with day after day at CCA.

The staff and administration showed unmatched kindness to them and made them feel like a part of the school. They embraced my children with warmth, encouragement, and helped them feel a sense of belonging and purpose. They also highlighted the unique opportunities of this new chapter to my kids, reminding them of God's grace and plan during the transition.

God used the community at CCA to help my family through a difficult time of transition, and I have seen the same love and welcoming spirit my family was met with in the teachers and staff that make our CCA Boynton Beach campus feel like home for our families.

Today, we thank God for the people God has brought to CCA, and the ways He faithfully uses each one of us to pour out His love and grace to minister to others.

Prayer:

Dear God,

I understand that change is often necessary for us to grow and become the people you have called us to be. Help us trust in Your character, Your plan, and Your presence in our lives and use us as a community to lift one another up, to speak truth and encouragement, and to be your hands and feet to others.

Thank you for this wonderfully unique community we have at CCA. Continue to bless each person on staff and every family who is part of our schools. In Jesus’ name, amen.
