CCA Sets the Tone at the Men's Soccer Pre-Season Jamboree

Calvary Christian Academy proved to be the better of two Eagles, defeating Jupiter Christian 3-1, and weathered the Hurricanes of Somerset Academy (North Lauderdale) 4-0.  These halves were exhibitions and do not count on CCA's regular season record.
On Tuesday, November 7, Calvary Christian Academy boys varsity team hosted a pre-season jamboree style contest. This is the second year under head coach, Brian Galvin, and the growth was quickly evident. The boys opened up with a forty minute period against the Eagles of Jupiter Christian School. CCA junior, Noah Scott, netted the first goal of the period. Deven Gonzalez finished off a beutiful team position, putting the second point on the board with a pretty give and go move. Michael McMullen took a through ball right down the middle of the field and cut the ball into the right corner of the goal from just inside the 18. Jupiter Christian's Ben Barbee scored their ownly goal on a direct kick.

The second period featured our two visiting schools with Jupiter Christian shutting out Somerset Academy 2-0.

In the final forty minutes of play, CCA faced Somerset Academy and carried a two goal lead with Michael McMullen scoring on both occasions. Aiden McDaniel spun a defender around and put the ball in the side netting for the Eagles' third goal. Sam Orozco put the final goal of the night with three minutes remaining. The entire CCA team got significant minutes in this pre-season jamboree and head into their regular season with a head full of steam.
