25 Prayers for 25 Years | Day 4 | God’s Sustaining Mercy
In today’s devotional, CCA Hollywood’s Lower School Assistant Principal, Omar Hunter, continues our 25 Prayers for 25 Years series by reminding us of the greatness of God’s merciful love.
Scripture:
"But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved."
–Ephesians 2:4–5
Reflection:
When we reflect on the mercy of God, we are reminded that it flows out of His deep, unfailing love. Ephesians 2 paints a vivid picture: even when we were undeserving, God stepped in not with judgment, but with mercy. He didn’t just rescue us; He made us alive. His mercy is not only a response to our weakness, it is a reflection of who He is.
As we celebrate 25 years of Calvary Christian Academy, we cannot help but see God's mercy written across every page of our story. His mercy has sustained our teachers, strengthened our students, comforted our families, and carried us through seasons of both triumph and trial. Every life that has been transformed, every lesson learned, and every prayer answered is a testimony of His rich mercy.
To praise God for His mercy is to recognize that all we are and all we have is because of Him. It is by grace we’ve come this far, and it is by grace we’ll continue. As we look ahead, may our hearts remain soft and our voices loud with praise, giving glory to the One who has made us alive in Christ. He continues to pour out His mercy every single day.
Prayer:
Gracious God, thank You for the mercy that flows from Your great love. You have made us alive in Your Son, Jesus, and You sustain our community by Your grace.
As we celebrate 25 years of Your faithfulness here at CCA, we lift our voices in praise for all You have done and all You will continue to do. Keep us centered on You, our merciful Father, as we step boldly into the future. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
