Eagles Rally To Topple Biggest District Rival Cardinal Gibbons

Adam Bond
The Eagles overcame major struggles early to beat friends and rivals Cardinal Gibbons last night, 10-5.

The defense, without senior captain Nick Bates, had to dig deep in front of freshman goalie Tyler Martinez who made 68.8% of his saves, holding Gibbons to just 4 goals in the first half, and only 1 in the second half.

The offense started slow, scoring only 2 goals in the first half. But they were ignited in the second half and scored 7 straight goals after Gibbons' only second half goal. Senior captain Noah Horne registered 2 assists, while senior Killian Sullivan, senior Eric Stephenson (61% face off), sophomore Tyler Asbate and freshman Blayze Rodriguez all scored 2 goals each.

The boys are back in action at home this Thursday against Stoneman Douglas at 5:00pm for senior night. Come out and support your seniors!
