Track and Field City Meet

Wednesday, your CCA Boys and Girls Track and Field teams participated in the City of Ft Lauderdale Track and Field Meet at Carter Park.  The only girls gold medal performance was in the 4x100 meter relay, a team consisting of Abigail Hamilton, Kayla Atkinson, Clara Romelus, and Kiki Belfort who defeated a stellar field in windy conditions to take home the prize.  Other notable performances were Kiki Belfort 4th and Kayla Atkinson 5th in the 100 meters, Kayla also 5th in the 200, London Claxton 4th and Zahmiya Bartley 5th in the 400 meter hurdles, and Bella Del Busto 2nd in the 3200 meters run.  The girls finished 5th overall out of the 9 teams in the City of Ft. Lauderdale.
 
On the boys side, the CCA Boys nearly upset St. Thomas, but feel just short , but still collecting the runner-up trophy for second in the City of Ft. Lauderdale.  The Eagles were led by gold medal performances by Micah Williams on the 400 meter hurdles, Liam Marley in the discus, Ryan Sims in the Triple Jump, and the 4x800 meter relay team of Dylan Crowers, Mason Morin, Matteo Maldonado, and Jonathan Anthony.  Other notables were Stone Bureau 2nd in the Long Jump, Matthias Gooden 2nd in the Triple Jump, and Liam Marley 2nd in the shot put.
