CCA started their eighth graders in their last game of the season. Sophia B controlled the tempo at the point. They played amazingly, with Captain Anaya Bird leading the Lady Eagles with 15 points and steal after steal for fast break opportunities. Sofia Ochoa sank a clutch three-pointer that changed the momentum of the game while forcing turnover after turnover with her intense defense. Elizabeth Charles dominated on the boards with over 15 rebounds. Raelynn Stacey added her incredible speed, tenacity, and raw talent to the team today. Our other captains, Ava, Kailey, and Sabi, all got on the board, with Kailey making a clutch play at the end of the game and making a huge free throw to gain the lead. We couldn't have done it without every player there giving their all and setting the stage for team basketball! Annalena, Reagan, and Brielle have been there all along, even with injuries, and we wish Brielle and all of our Eighth Graders a great future! Mia, Abi and Chanty are a vital part of the team and have grown incredibly!! Emilia couldn't be at the game, but her letter to the team motivated us all and showed how much of a leader she has been! We missed all of the other girls!

One team united the Lady Eagles, took on North Broward Prep at home. Sofia Ochoa started us off with an NBA three right off the bat. She left it all on the court and led the team with 4 points. Anaya Bird and Sabi Guichardo contributed with 2 points each and multiple steals. Brielle Alvarez had a sweet block, and Ava Imbimbo hustled and grabbed rebound after rebound. Elizabeth started and played tough, even through difficult moments. We are proud of Sophia's ease with breaking the press. Great job Lady Eagles. Every game is a new opportunity to challenge yourself with small improvements, and as a team, you are growing.

CCA played Pine Crest away for their first game of the season. Ava Imbimbo started us off with the first two points of the game. Sofia Ochoa is an amazing edition to our team this year and we know she will help lead the team! She forced a lot of turnovers with her fierce defense and by anticipating the steals! Anaya Bird grabbed rebounds and forced turnovers the entire game. Brielle Alvarez played through players doubling and tripling down but she still prevailed with the rebound! Reagan Delo and Emilia Cardona didn't give up any easy shots and dominated on the floor with defense. Chanty Owoc ran through the plays with ease and always brings that consistency to the team. Emilia drove it to the basket and drew a couple of fouls- sinking two free throws; she was relentless! All in all the girls laid it all on the court and we look forward to a win this Wednesday at home!
